Getting to Highgate Primary

At Highgate Primary, we encourage families and visitors to either walk or cycle to school, or take public transport. We strive to be a Green School and sustainability lies at the heart of our decisions.

Our location

We’re easy to find. Use the map to discover the best way to reach us.

Getting here by car

Where car use is essential, hopefully the information below will help answers any questions you may have.

Can I access neighbouring streets?

Car access to Kenwood Road, Gaskell Road and Storey Road is restricted by the School Street during peak drop-off and pick-up times. Only cars with vehicle permits are eligible to enter the zone during operation times. Please see our School Street section below.

Where can I park?

Where car use is essential, parking is available in our nearby streets. The school is within the Highgate Station CPZ, with residents’ parking from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Safe and Considerate Parking

If you do drive, safe and thoughtful parking is vitally important for our whole school community. Please be aware that parking on the zig-zag lines on North Hill and double yellow lines on junctions is extremely dangerous to pedestrians and creates significant distress to members of our community. Parking Enforcement Officers from Haringey are regularly in attendance to prevent illegal parking or waiting.

Our School Street

A School Street is a walking and cycling zone created outside a school during peak drop-off and pick-up times, so only people walking and cycling, and those with vehicle permits, are eligible to enter the zone during certain times.

Our School Street zone includes Kenwood Road, Gaskell Road, Yeatman Road and Storey Road.

Monday to Friday term time only between 8.30 – 9.30am and 3.00 – 4.00pm.

The School Street remains open to people walking and cycling, disabled badge holders and residents of the street, who will have a permit and will continue to have access via car.

If you drive within the zone during the operating times, you will receive a penalty charge fee of £100. CCTV cameras will be in operation.
